Introduction to Career Ownership for Coaches

This 30-minute session provides an overview of how we train coaches to support their clients establish and maintain career ownership. We promote career exploration through a “three ways of knowing” framework involving sequential card sort, narrative building, reflection and action steps stages. We provide optional AI support to deepen client insights and encourage long-term coach client relationships. We also provide for classroom delivery where a coach or professor assigns clients or students into peer-coaching teams and supervises their interaction. Contact us for more information.

Career Ownership Consultant Training for Coaches

You will learn to lead your clients to establish or re-establish personal ownership of their careers by:
  • Taking a "deep dive" into the story of their career experience.
  • Determining Career Themes about what’s most important to them.
  • Agreeing on future Action Steps and “to do” dates for each Career Theme.
  • Enjoying your long-term support in pursuing their Action Steps over time.
  • Incorporating optional AI services with individual clients or workshop groups.
You will also receive:
  • Certification from Intelligent Careers Group as a Career Ownership Consultant. Co-certification for ICF members.
  • Access to the Intelligent Careers Group website for straightforward client invitation and management services.
  • Training to apply the holistic Intelligent Careers Framework to client careers.
  • Support for consulting and workshop activities across both physical and virtual space in twelve languages
  • Optional AI support to enhance clients’ experience with the Intelligent Careers Framework.

The program involves six weekly 75-minute live Zoom sessions and six 75-minute homework assignments. You will learn in a peer-coaching team of two or three people to experience both coach and client perspectives.


Certification: Intelligent Careers Group Career Ownership Consultant certificate International Coaching Federation Members: 12 CC, 3 RD credits

Growing a Career Ownership Consulting Business

This program is for people who have already completed our course on Career Ownership Consultant Training Course for Coaches. It provides an opportunity to develop greater familiarity with the range of coaching services available on the Intelligent Careers Group website, and to explore how to apply them in our coaching practice. Particular concern is given to the deepening of your coach-client relationships over time.


Certification: Intelligent Careers Group Career Ownership Advocate certificate International Coaching Federation Members: 1.5 CC, 3.5 RD credits
